NECK LIFT

The benefits of a neck lift for the patient experiencing aging are numerous.  A sagging neck is improved by contouring the neck, removing loose skin which reduces wrinkles, creases and folds in the neck or décolleté area. Often the platysma muscles are elevated and tightened, thereby improving the jawline and the angles of the neck for a more youthful appearance.

Incisions are placed below the chin and behind the ears. Any excess fatty tissues are removed by liposuction and direct excision. The muscles are then tightened, and any excess skin is trimmed. The remaining skin is draped and sutured in place to provide a more youthful contour and shape to the neck and lower face.

A neck lift is performed under general anesthesia and can take two to four hours. Swelling and bruising improves within one to two weeks. Depending on the number of other procedures, overall recovery may be up to three to four weeks. Most patients resume regular home activities within two weeks and resume exercise within six weeks.
